Figuring out how to win, that’s what Bid Strategy is about.
Our approach to creating a bid strategy starts with a detailed read and mark-up of the tender documents, to establish what the buyer is buying, identify all key compliance requirements and develop an initial understanding of what might be motivating their purchase.
We supplement this preliminary thinking with detailed desk-based research into the buyer’s corporate strategy, underlying policy drivers and relevant government papers.
Through face to face or remote workshops we then map your organisation’s capabilities against the requirements. We then jointly discuss and develop a bid win strategy that delivers the specification requirements, plus the added value the buyer is looking for.
The output of this work is a written document, we call the Win Strategy. This summarises the buyers needs and the core elements of the proposition to be presented.
Taking each question in turn, we then create an outline of what each response needs to include to answer the question. This includes identifying where the core elements of the win strategy need to be played.
“Experience of working with Tenders has been excellent on all aspects of tender preparation activities (research and intelligence capture, ‘win strategy’ development, bid writing and quality assurance). The company brought us added value with its wide service experience and knowledge, combining skill in analysis of customer wants with an ability to work effectively with staff in-house to harness local knowledge, often within tight turnaround timescales. This together with their sound project leadership and culture for quality assurance has led to production of focused, evidence-based (successful) bid submissions.”
